Ledesma: Jozy Altidore may become the new face of U.S. soccer

Landon Donovan, the national team’s all-time leading scorer and assist man in international play, is the face of this squad. I’ve seen him on a couple of late-night talk shows and heard him interviewed by Bill Simmons of ESPN on a podcast.

But I had to look up “Jozy” Altidore’s first name on Wikipedia before I figured it out (just for the record, it’s actually Josmer Volmy Altidore). What’s more important, I discovered the 20-year old Florida native just might be the turning point in making U.S. soccer finally relevant in international play.
