Guyana Qualifies For CONCACAF Women`s Gold Cup

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, Tues. July 6, 2010: Guyana has qualified for the CONCACAF Women`s Gold Cup for the first time, rallying for a 3-1 victory over Cuba on Saturday and completing the eight-team field.

Mid-fielder Ashley Rodrigues scored her fourth goal in seven games and led the rally for the Lady Jaguars, who advanced 3-2 on aggregate in the two-leg Caribbean playoff.

Guyana joins fellow Caribbean qualifiers Haiti and Trinidad & Tobago, Central American sides Guatemala and Costa Rica, and North American teams Canada, Mexico and the United States in the Women`s Gold Cup, set for late October and early November.
